Obrist

Wine does not speak, it evokes a story. For Obrist, this story has been going on for over 160 years. Emmanuel Obrist founded the Obrist & Cie wine merchant company in February 1854. When his son Emile took over the business, he developed his father’s company, for instance by building a new cellar at Clos du Levant in Vevey. This led Obrist SA to be recognised as a hub for the production and trading of Vaud and Valais wines. Emile Obrist quickly realised the importance of having his vineyards to ensure the reputation and quality of the products. Today, the Obrist house cultivates 85 hectares of vines located on the vertiginous Lavaux terraces and in the Chablais region, at the foot of the Vaudois Alps. In 2004, Obrist became one of the founding members of the Clos, Domaines & Châteaux Association. Obrist’s quality and integrity are guaranteed at all levels by a tailored customer service and talented winemakers and oenologists rewarded with numerous medals and other distinctions.
