Château de Vufflens was built between 1390 and 1420 by Henri de Colombier. This exceptional building is noteworthy both for its defensive and aesthetic qualities. A remarkable military structure. The brick edifice consists of two “castles”: on one hand, the fortified residence, and on the other hand, the defensive part. Brick is the ideal material to resist artillery shots but is also very decorative. The Saussure family acquired this stunning property in the 17th century. The six impressive oak casks are stored in the castle cellar, where the estate’s wines are matured.
