Clos Domaines & Châteaux
La noblesse des vins suisses

Domaine de La Doges is a 1.87-hectare wine estate in the heart of an island of greenery, overlooking Lake Geneva between Vevey and Montreux. The estate is owned by the Confrérie des Vignerons (Brotherhood of winegrowers) and has been run by Maison Testuz for almost 50 years. The grape varieties grown are Chasselas and Chardonnay (white), Gamaret, Gamay, Garanoir, Mara and Galotta (red). The estate produces two Grands Crus, a Chasselas and a red blend, recognised as high-quality wines and regularly rewarded in national and international competitions.

André Coigny de Palézieux, the Swiss ambassador, bequeathed in 1997 the building of La Doges and its furniture to the Public Art Society (Swiss Heritage Vaud section) so that it remains a witness of an 18th and 19th-century bourgeois house. At the same time, he bequeathed the vineyard to the Confrérie des Vignerons in memory of his wife Odette and certain ancestor abbots-presidents of the Confrérie. Today, the vineyard is still owned by this prestigious Brotherhood.

This magnificent vineyard was already cited back in 1161, and the Testuz house has been running the estate for almost 50 years. She grows the vines according to the Confrérie des Vignerons’ principles. The white stakes in the vineyard are proof of the regular visits of the Confrérie’s experts.
